Foggy Days

Hi Happy Bloggers, well l dont know what the weathers up to where you live, but for the last week here, we are having a funny old spring, we've had it all, sunshine, rain and the fog has been coming and going all day for the last few days in a row, perfect days for scrapp'in and getting cards done, but thats means no outside work for me, l still have weeds to pull and mulch to gett on the garden, oh well l suppose the sun will shine again soon, check out the photo l took from our back door yesterday morning, the day was clear when l got up , but by 11.15 it was like this.

And it got worse, Anyway l finally finshed the scrapp'in l had left to do on this side of my tree, folders done, pages done and Census records done.............yay.

This is my pa's brother joe, his baby photo was done in my last post, here he is with his 3 daughters, the paper is older paper l had left from Kaiser and so are the rubons, tags are from my minds eye.

This is a folder l made for a letter l had given to us , it is a letter that my great grandmother wrote to all her children before she died, thanking them for everything that she had done for her, my what  a treasure this letter is, just to see her hand writing and knowing that she is grateful for all that was done for her, in one part of the letter, she states, that she has nothing to leave them but love and memories, l think that is just so wonderful, its really not about the material things in life,..... is it,... for me and many other scrappers its about keeping memories of those loved and gone before us alive , to pass on to next generations to come. ..I dont like scrappin these documents like a normal page, so l make folders and pop the paperwork inside, its a much nicer way to look at it, l used more Miss Nellie papers and the stamps, it didnt have to be anything fancy, but l love the way it turned out, l think it is just so Sophia,  here is a peek at the letter.

And last l have a page on  one of her daughters May, she is with her nephew Billy when he was in the Navy.

Dont you just love this prima paper, sorry the photos a bit dark, the butterflies are fussy cut also from prima paper, and then l have used one of my new stamp sets from Stamp'in Up called  'Field Flowers'  and once again all up Stamp'in up inks matched the papers beautifully, Well thats all lve got for you today,  l have cards to make for class on friday, which l can show you soon, and now l can start the next lot of stories and pages on my grandparents...........cheers kate xxx

Playing with Miss Nellie

Hi there Happy bloggers, well little Miss Nellie has taken over my house, yesterday l scrapped with her all day, l'm so lov'in this set of papers and embellishments, and they were perfect for some of the last lot of family tree pictures l have on my grandfathers side of the family, lve had so much fun playing with the stamp set and doing alot of fussy cutting and really pleased with the way they turned out,  so l hope you enjoy looking at them as much as l had fun making them.

All products are Kaiser, except for the bling on the dress stands and a new stamp set from Stamp'in up, l really was'nt sure about the chipboard flowers, but when l put them against my page, the just made it pop. oops , the letters are American craft

The next page is my great grandmother, l framed the page with the large stamp in the set and then added the little rose stamp to just mingle in the  solid background, it reminds me of a rose covered archway blossoming in spring, it was such a quick and easy layout.

the large flowers l have stamped onto cardstock and cut them out, easy as ,and the paper l used was in the 6x6 paper pad.
you can see the pale pink rose buds in this pic a bit better, l really love the way this page turned out, l think l will be using this stamp set alot.

This is my grandfathers sister and when l looked at the hat she was wearing, l just knew these papers and stamps were going to work, l wanted to make a sort of faded look so l inked up the stamp and stamped it off once and then stamped the page, it worked a treat, the letters l used are American craft, from a few years back, and were the only large ones l had where the colours matched, so l embossed  some cardstock with the stampin up vintage wallpaper folder, l wanted to use a oval template, but didnt have one for the size l needed, so when all ekse fails, go to the kitchen cupboard and see what you can find, l found a plastic oval container, but it was to big for what l wanted , as l went to put it back, l looked at the underside and there it was , a smaller oval ring on the bottom, just perfect......so l inked up the plastic, pressed it onto the embossed paper, and cut it out,............ dah ta..........

Also went a bit mad with the Spritzing tool from stamp'in up.

So anyway, that sort of winds up my miss nellie pages today, if anyone would like this set, contact the girls from www.makeapagescrapbooking.com.au , lm sure they would love to help you make some beautiful pages, so thats all on miss nellie for now, l still have so much of this set to use, there will be more pages to come, so stay tuned,  have a good one .............kate

Miss Nellie

Hi all, just popping in to show you the paper pack l won from Make a Page Scrapbooking, it was the beautiful set from Kaiser Craft called Miss Nellie, lm still working on some pages, but had to show you l page l've done already, these papers are full of the prettiest flowers.

This prize was full of the miss nellie papers, stamps, 6x6 paper pad, rub ons, journal tags, chipboard flowers, and its fitted so well with my family tree photos, which yes , lm still working on and so much more to do,  my first page with this set was a pic of my great grandmother Sophia with her 7 daughters, so all the pinks worked in wonderfully, cant wait to do more.

lve also used some of my new stamp sets from Stamp'in Up, they have brought out some wonderful vintage stamps, which will work with my family tree photos and one of the amazing things was one of the stamps is the writing that says Established 1873, which just happens to be the year my great grandmother was born, l think it was meant to be., the letters l used are from American Craft and the inks are stampin up, but they all match the miss nellie papers.

Also been working on some other family tree pages.

this is Sophia's husband , Thomas and son Syd,  this is a mixture of products, papers are Kaiser, and letter stamps also kaiser, rub ons are Daisy D's and oh dear l cant remember, lol, other stamps are Stampin up and Ali Edwards, and Bella chipboard.

this double page, is Thomas and Sophia's daughter, Daisy and her three children, and the short story on what we have been told, there really was'nt much to tell, thats why its so great that so many people do scrapbooking now, life documentation is so important, if we tell our stories, then future family will know, and its never about the big things, its all the little things that matter the most, anyway l could keep rambling on , but there is more scrappin and life stories to be told, hope you are all having a great day, please check back for more Miss Nellie pages...............kate xxx P.S ....The papers are Bo Bunny and stamps are from ............you guessed it, ...........Stamp'in Up..........and Ali Edwards
